Superman comes out as bisexual, Batman’s Fear State ends, Wonder Woman: Evolution kicks off and more in this week’s DC Comics releases.
This week’s DC Comics will see Superman come out as bisexual, the Batman: Fear State event come to a close and more on Nov. 16.
As first promised in early October, Superman: Son of Kal-El #5 will see DC’s latest Superman, Jon Kent, come out as bisexual and form a relationship with Jay Nakamura, the young reporter behind “The Truth” podcast. Jay was introduced in the series’ second issue and has enlightened Jon to the events plaguing the country of Gamorra, run by Henry Bendix. The last issue saw Bendix juice Jon’s powers to exponential levels, which is where the upcoming issue will take off. The issue will also feature two Pride variant covers of Jon and Jay.
Superman is not the only DC staple leading comics this week as Fear State comes to a conclusion in Batman #117. While this issue marks the end of the event that has stretched across many Bat Family titles, an epilogue to the story will release with Batman: Fear State Omega #1, a one-shot set to release on Nov. 30. Other Fear State tie-ins and related issues releasing this week include Nightwing #86 and Batman Secret Files: The Gardener #1.
One new series launching on Tuesday is writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Mike Hawthorne’s Wonder Woman: Evolution, where Diana will stand trial on behalf of humanity and Earth. For comic readers who have not already read the issue digitally on DC Universe Infinite or just want to collect the book, Robins #1 releases in print this week. The series was the winner of DC’s Round Robin tournament, voted for by fans over 15 other potential series for publication. The series specifically beat JLQ, Lobo/Animal Man: Scorched Earth and Green Lanterns: Underworld on Fire.
Speaking of Green Lantern, that and many other titles are also available for purchase this week. The full list of issues and their solicitations are shown below in alphabetical order.
